The Business community is mourning the passing of an American entrepreneur, business executive, and philanthropist, Michael Cudahy. Unfortunately, Michael John Cudahy who is better known as Michael Cudahy sadly passed away at the age of 97. Michael was one of the popular tinkerers and visionary who helped to create one of Wisconsin’s most popular and successful businesses and later, he gave his tens of millions of dollars to help the renaissance of Milwaukee’s culture, education, arts, and civic scene. It is saddened to hear about the passing of the multi-talented person.

According to the sources, the news of Michael’s passing was confirmed by Joel Brennan of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, former CEO of Discovery World which was created by Cudahy. The heartbreaking news was shared before the start of a mayoral candidates debate on Monday morning at the Italian Community Center.

While announcing, Joel Brennan said,” I would ask for a moment of silence but that really wasn’t Mikey’s way of doing things. Mike would have looked at the two candidates here today and say you better not screw things up”. He took his last breath on March 11, 2022. Michael’s sudden passing made everyone upset especially his close ones who knows him personally and loved him a lot.

Michael Cudahy whose birthname Michael John Cudahy was born on March 24, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US. He was the son of John Cudahy who was United States ambassador to Ireland, Poland, and Belgium. Patrick Cudahy was the grandmother of him who was the founder of Patrick Cudahy’s meat company. On August 2, 2007, WTMJ-AM in Milwaukee reported that he was one of the several private investors considering purchasing Midwest Airlines. He also founded Marquette Electronics in 1965 and became chairman and CEO. Later, the company became public in 1991.

His company became the nation’s first central electrocardiographic system at Northwestern University Medical School. The machines have become standard in hospitals throughout the US. He and Warren later bought the failing Patient Monitoring Business Unit from GE and joined with the existing business. At the time, the company achieved honor and respect in the industry. Later, Michael started to focus his energies on philanthropy and serving on the boards of other companies.

In 2002, he shared the story of the founding of Marquette Electronics in the book Joyworks. After the news of his passing, his family and friends have broken from inside.
